Join me as we explore the history of oil and gas prices
and as America bans together to "no vote 2008" to ultimately pay less at the pump. This will give every American the oppurtunity to know that they did something to bring gas prices down.
As we draw near to the presidential election of 2008 there have been numerous debates from the Democratic and Republican Parties. Topics such as border control, healthcare, the war and the economy have all been among the discussions from the candidates. Though all of these topics are very important, the topic that seems to be the front runner with a majority of the American people is the current state of the economy, and as we all know, it is not looking to good at the moment. Although we hear that the economy is being hurt from all different sectors, the most publicized economic struggle is with the housing market. We hear daily "doom" reports from the housing industry of the low rate of home sales and the troubles that families are having with their mortgage payments, especially those families with sub-prime and adjustable rate mortgages. We are hearing economic woes from every direction, EXCEPT FROM THE BIG OIL and GAS COMPANIES. Thats right. I'm probably not telling you anything that you didn't already know. I bet that a majority of Americans have even thought to themselves how it just doesn't seem right that these companies are posting such huge earnings while the rest of America goes broke. In my opinion, the reason there is not enough money circulating in the economy is because all of it is going to the oil and gas industry. This issue is the driving force behind the idea of this website.
Before I explain, let me add that I had already had the opinion that our government could do something about the gas prices if they wanted to, but what provoked me to finally try to do something about it was when I was watching an interview with Donald Trump recently. During the interview he was asked a question about the out of control prices and his answer was that our government could do something about it, if they wanted to. His opinion, although he called his statement a fact, was the same as mine.
As I see it, the mortgage brokers and the oil and gas companies are all here for the same reason, to make money. Whether you agree or disagree with adjustable and sub-prime rates, the individuals who sign these contracts know what they are signing. The companies that have extended the credit for these contracts make their money by these contracts being fullfilled, and yes, these companies do make more money the higher the interest rate that is charged. The same goes for the gas and oil companies, the higher the price of gas is at the pump, the more profit these companies make. So, if President Bush and all of the presidential candidates can discuss ways of limiting the mortgage industry in hopes to try to help the American people from losing their homes, why can't they also discuss ways to limit the amount of money the oil and gas companies can make so that the American people won't be so burdened every time they have to stop to get gas. Think of it like this, if we did not have to spend so much of our hard earned money on gas, we would have more of it to pay our mortgage payments and to spend elsewhere in the economy.
So, my intentions of this site is to be very informative with current and historical news from the oil and gas industry so that you, the American people, can form your own opinion about this issue. If you do agree with me, sign the "no vote" registry so that our voice can be heard and so that we can pay for gas without taking it out of our mortgage payment.
